After almost 30+ hours we finally got this Chevy high country dialed in. For those who are not detailers, GM black paint is one of the softest and most finicky clear coats in the industry which means it can scratch super easily . After a two step pai
After almost 30+ hours we finally got this Chevy high country dialed in. For those who are not detailers, GM black paint is one of the softest and most finicky clear coats in the industry which means it can scratch super easily . After a two step paint correction we were able to remove about 80% or more of the defects in the paint. For only being two years old this truck was hammered with swirl marks and scratches. We layered on gtechniq’s c2V3 sealant for added protection and durability of about 6 months. Lastly, all of the plastics were treated with solution finish to bring back the rich dark color that they once had. The turn around on this truck is amazing and we couldn’t have been happier with the results. The end result is nothing shy of a mirror reflection! Spring is quickly approaching!!!! ☀️🌤 The picture below is an example of why the clay barring decontamination process is so important! 😳 To the naked eye the roof of this vehicle looked clean however the color and contaminants on the clay bar say otherwise. Among other contaminants, road salt can be harmful to your vehicles clear coat and cause your vehicle to rust faster and your paint to oxidize and become cloudy quicker. It is important to think of the clay barring process like proper skin care. When you exfoliate your skin, you remove dirt and grime from your face that a normal wash doesn’t remove. Essentially a clay bar acts as an exfoliator for your vehicles painted and glass surfaces!! While a clay bar leaves behind a cleaner and shinier surface it also allows waxes and sealants to adhere to the paint better. This means longer protection and a shinier vehicle! Our vehicles are constantly being beat on no matter how much we baby them and as a result our paint becomes contaminated.
